Artilium Unveils Mobile Unified Communications Platform

Artilium plc, a European leader in advanced mobile telecommunications software development, is pleased to unveil ARTA II: its next-generation unified communications service delivery platform. The modular and highly scalable solution unifies fixed, mobile and IP networks to enable network operator delivery of innovative, differentiated and ARPU-enhancing mobile unified communications solutions to a broad range of customers.

ARTA II delivers the convergence, management and advanced features operators need to build a commercially compelling mobile-centric unified communications business including:

• Unified networks to merge and manage fixed/mobile/IP communications

• Control in real-time to manage rating and charging with full multi-tenancy

• Geospatial mobile presence to make communications and content delivery relevant

• Voice-call continuity over GSM, Wi-Fi, 3G and WiMAX networks for least-cost routing

• Universal mobile-to-mobile click-to-dial from Microsoft Office to drive high-ARPU calls

• Intelligent automation to bridge media types and manage communications overload

Unveiling ARTA II, Artilium Chief Executive Officer Robert Marcus commented:

“Artilium develops advanced software for the heart of the complicated telecoms network. ARTA II brings the ubiquity of Microsoft to the universality of mobile telecommunications, allowing operators to rapidly integrate and deploy mobile unified communications services that provide convenience and simplicity for consumers and businesses alike.”

ARTA II is built on Microsoft’s .NET Framework, is designed for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and integrates with Exchange Server 2007 and Office Communications Server 2007.

Commenting on the ARTA II launch, Yancey Smith, group marketing manager, Unified Communications Group, at Microsoft Corp said:

“Microsoft unified communications technologies use the power of software to deliver complete communications – messaging, voice, and video – across applications and devices. Relationships are core to Microsoft’s go-to-market strategy for unified communications. We’re excited to be working with Artilium to bring innovative mobile unified communications solutions to meet the needs of network operators.”

Artilium is also pleased to announce that QiComm www.qicomm.com, a network operator providing telecommunications solutions to some of the world’s largest carriers, telcos and government agencies, is partnering with Artilium to deliver new unified communications offerings based on ARTA II.

Pat Nabhan, Chief Executive Officer of QiComm stated:

“ARTA II drives a new class of rich mobile services which improves the customer experience, builds loyalty and drives up minutes. We are working closely with Artilium to trial and to ultimately launch new offerings to the millions of subscribers on our system.”

Available in the spring of 2008, ARTA II supports a wide range of protocols including IMS (SIP and DIAMETER), SS7, MAP, CAP and others. It also includes a software development kit to enable rapid customization and partner development of add-on solutions.
